Pink Parcel Unboxing September 2017

Haha, so how is it September already?! This months box is looking very pink! I’m not complaining, it’s the perfect colour to brighten the now duller looking days 🙂

First off as always, I like to put the kettle on and see what our tea is. This month is The London Tea Company Peach & Rhubarb Tea Bag. Now, this is a nice tea! A perfect little winter warmer. The chocolate treat is supposed to be Belgian Boys Choco Stix, but for some reason my box doesn’t have them 🙁 Ah ok, that makes sense, I’ve just read in the little booklet that the Belgian Boys Choco Stix was just a teaser for a future box and instead this month chocolate treat is the Bakedin Chocolate Brownie Mug Mix. This looks very intriguing, we love a bit of baking, so Dan’s got his hands on the pack as we speak. It is really easy to cook and the recipe is really easy to follow. However, it is not a brownie, it’s just a chocolate sponge mix. It was really tasty, just maybe slightly too dry, but it maybe we didn’t adjust the microwave setting enough, as the instructions are for a 800W.

Next off we have the Sebamed Feminine Intimate Wash. I am really not a fan of intimate washes, but it looks a nice product.

Then we have a few beauty bits. I’ve spied the Laritzy Cosmetic Lip Pencil. Mine comes in the shade Deep Orchid, which is a lovely purple shade. Next, we have a Ciate London Nail Polish. I have mine in the shade Raspberry Collins, a lovely pink shade. I have to say, I’m now starting to switch to darker shades now we are in Autumn, but who doesn’t love a nice Ciate nail polish, so I will leave this one for next summer. Next we have the Stylondon Oval Face Brush, a blusher blending brush. It’s been a while since I tried out the face brushes, but I really liked them, so I’m looking forward to giving this a good try out. Last on the beauty front, we have Skimono Foot Mask. These are cute little booties you wear for 30 minutes to get your tootsies feeling silky smooth. My feet are to say the least really glad we are at the end of the sandal season, so this is the perfect start to pedicure pamper time!

Overall, another great little box 🙂 You can get hold of one at www.pinkparcel.co.uk

Pink Parcel Unboxing August 2017

This year is totally flying by at the moment isn’t it! I thought before the month is over (again!), I would sit down and review the latest Pink Parcel. This month looks to be on first glance a really good box, so let’s dive on in…

As I always do when I review the PP, is first to find the drink and the snacks (well, why wouldn’t you). This months tea bag is the Kusmi Tea BB Detox Tea. It is a green tea and grapefruit mix, which is really nice and refreshing.

The sweet treat is really exciting as it’s Silvina’s Nature Raspberry & White Cholcoate Crowns. These are low calorie (28 per box), low sugar and veggie friendly sweets.  They are a wafer-like consistency, which is something I wasn’t expecting, but they are beyond yummy!!

The next thing to catch my eye is the Sportfx Cool Down Primer and Recovery Gel. This has a cooling formula full of vitamins sloe vera and water for anti-redness and cooling before or after a workout. Hmm, that reminds me, I need to arrange an appointment for a gym induction and then I could try it out properly. Why is it so hard to motivate yourself for the gym! It actually provides a great base for make up and the cooling action is really nice, so can’t wait to really see if it works under workout conditions.

Next is the Nailsinc Gel Effect Nail Polish and I got mine in the shade Queens Garden. The colour range is inspired by London place names, it comes in Baker Street and Seven Dials. We all love a Nailsinc polish don’t we and my shade is very summery.

The next thing that gets my attention is the Phizz Rehydration Vitamins and Minerals. They are those effervescent tables packed with vitamins and minerals. I quite like that they are aimed at rehydration. I’m thinking I might leave these for back to school next month. You know the time when all the bugs and colds start coming on!

Next is a bit different. It is Native Unearthed Deodorant Balm. You have to stick your fingers in the tub, massage between your fingers and then apply to the underarm. I’m used to applying or spraying! It’s all natural though, made from mineral salts. It smells nice and it works! So, it’s all good with me 🙂

Next we have Vitamasque Fruit Slice Mask. Theses are basically like the cucumbers you put on your eyes when you do a face mask! How cool is that! They come in Kiwi or Orange. I got mine in Orange. I kind of wish they were cucumber now I’ve described them as cucumber, but they are made with real fruit extract and feel so nice and refreshing. I’ve started trying to do more pamper skincare nights, so they come in very handy!

The last thing in the box is something really quirky! It’s the Evoshave Handheld Razor. It’s a tiny razor, which you just use between your two fingers. I found this quite difficult to use for my underarm area (I’m not the most delicate of people). It was good for legs though. Not sure it will replace my usual razor, but I think it is good for popping in your bag for trips away and the like.

Have to say, overall I am really pleased with this months box! Well done #PPSquad.

Chin up 30 minute face mask

I was kindly sent this mask to try from Chin Up to try out to see if I can slim and firm my chin in just 30 minutes. As I’m fast approaching 39 (ouch!), as you can imagine, anything claiming to help firm any wobbles, lines or wrinkles I have out the packet and on my skin before you can say “almost 40”!

The mask works in four easy steps: absorbing firming essence, stimulates skin connective tissue, lifts facial contours and gets rid of chubby chins! My question is how does it do that without containing a ton of chemicals that could potentially be harmful to my skin? Well, the thing is, the mask contains natural fruit extracts, vitamin E, corum 9235 and Q10 coenzyme, so nothing nasty in there.

So, let’s put this on and see what happens. First off, I measured my chin and jotted the measurement down. That way I could see any improvement. Then I applied the mask to a clean, dry face, put the band on and sat back and relaxed for 30 minutes.

The mask itself remains wet feeling during the time and has a warming sensation, which I guess feels like a hot cloth treatment. I was a little alarmed when it began to warm up though as I wasn’t sure if I was confusing it with irritation. All was good though and the box says to expect that. The band makes movement quite restrictive and talking and drinking isn’t so simple, so best to do it when you have a quiet half an hour to yourself.

Then for the exciting part of removing the mask! I did notice a difference and my chin looked smoother and when I measured I had lost 1cm. Unfortunately though, this isn’t permanent fat loss, but would be great for a special occasion, or just to make yourself feel good when you need a little boost 🙂

As far as masks go, I have to say this will be in my “go to” category going forward.

Have you tried the mask?
Love, Helen xoxo

The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue

Summer is (kind of) here and if you’re anything like me, winter means my feet get neglected. So much so, I’m avoiding switching to pretty sandals out of pure shame. Like not even a quick splash of pretty pink nail varnish is going to distract from the state of them! So, it’s time to get out an old favourite. I’ve been using The Body Shop’s Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue for years.

The cream is a gorgeously rich formula and is incredibly cooling. The cream contains peppermint oil, which keeps feet smelling fresh too. It is perfect for hot, tired feet. I’ve teamed it with the Body Shop File-A-Foot to get shut of that horrible hard skin (sorry if that’s TMI).

I do wish however that I had done my foot-prep a little earlier in the year. I usually do this well in advance. I’ve already been on holiday twice too *blush*. Better late than never hey. Once you have buffed the hard skin, one of my top tips for getting lovely soft feet is after a nice bath or foot spa, pop on some cotton-rich socks (if you can bear this in the summer) and relax. A few weeks of doing this daily and my feet usually end up baby soft.

I picked up the Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue for £9.50 for 100ml and the File-A-Foot for £5.00. Just as a little side note, this post is not sponsored. I’ve just used the cream for years and it works!

Pink Parcel Unboxing May 2017

Wow this year seems to be flying by at the moment! Here we are with May’s Pink Parcel. On first glance, this looks a good one. I also received some excellent customer service from PP after a mix up with my lady items, they were fully apologetic and got the correct ones out in the post asap!

As always, I am of course drawn to all thing tea and treats. We have Ace Tea Hot Ginger Green Tea, Willie’s Cacoa (mine is the Luscious Orange) and Rhythm 108 Ooh-La-La- Tea Biscuits in Lemon and Ginger. Love, love and loved this selection! Ginger, orange and more ginger and lemon. Prefect for comfort. Perfect for period pains. Tick.

Next is some shower treats. First, is the BIC ‘Miss Soleil’ Razor. I am off on holiday in a few weeks (feel like that’s all I say), so I’m going to keep in it in the pack ready. Love the pink packaging and triple blade feature. Next, is the Scrub Love Coconut Affair, coconut and groin organic coffee scrub. Perfect for getting your skin beach or fake tan ready

Lastly, is the beauty loves:
Mount Purious Rosewater Facial Toner. This is the perfect summer facial spritz. Would be nice to test it out on a warm summer day, but instead I’m testing it on a rather wet May afternoon with enough rain to do the same effect, but I’m imagining and think it would be fab!

Then we have, Trust Find Beauty nail polish. I got mine in OMG! Dying. I get my nails done, so tend only to wear brighter colours on my feet when it’s time to get the toes out. I have to say this is not usually a colour I would wear, but it actually looks quite nice and flattering. It is a nice coverage from one coat though, so maybe a winner.

Last, but not least, is the Flawless Brushes Blusher Brush. The brushes are eco-friendly and cruelty-free. It is one of the softest brushes I’ve ever felt. Think this is fast become one of my faves!

Pink Parcel Unboxing April 2017

Hehe before April is out. Thought I better post the latest PP. They were late delivering this month for some reason and then I’ve just had it sat in the spare room ‘waiting to take photos’. You know the drill.

This month looks a decent box. Let’s dive on in and have a ganders:

First, let’s put the kettle on! Sleep Tea. Erm, ok so might not finish this post… To be honest, I much prefer the natural non- caffinated tea bags, so I’m happy. It’s a lovely liquorice, lavender tea. For me that is perfection.

To go with our cuppa, we have Conscious Chocolate. I got mine in Goji and Coconut. A vegan, free from refined sugar sweet treat. Again this is right up my street. Thank you #PPSquad.

But, what is this another chocolate delight. Puff Paff Pudding Pot. A cute jar filled with creamy chocolate layered over a cake, brownie or busicut base. Erm, I’m not a cake/busciut fan, so I’m going to pass. I do have a lot of lovely ladies in my life who I know will love this! Mums, Nanna – this one is for you!

Now, let’s move onto the beauty bits. Starting with Patisserie De Bain Hand Cream. I got mine in Creme Patisserie. I like this. It doesn’t smell too sweet and it’s nice and moisturising. Plus perfect handbag size at 50ml. Yay!

Next, is something I haven’t seen before. It’s the Lavera All-Round Cream. I got my nails done for the wedding and I can’t open the tin *whoops* How do I ask Dan to open it and not look like pathetic! One opened tin later. It smells really nice. It’s consistency reminds me of a more melting balm version of Nivea Soft. It’s a handy little 25ml tin, so perfect for popping in your handbag, or for a weekend away.

Ooh a Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Conditioner. Ooh we got the shampoo last month. LOVED IT! Bonus, I use shampoo really slowly (not because I don’t wash my hair btw. Before you think *gross*!). I took the sample size shampoo to Venice and brought the remainder home so, I can team these two together and see how they are. I said I was going to look out for them in Superdrug and I forgot, but will definitely look to repurchase to try them out properly.

Hairon Ties. I usually buy these from Primani for £1. These are £3.99 for 3, so more expensive. The Primark ones break easily though, so be interersting to see if spend more, they last longer. I will keep you posted.

Lastly, you know me. The best bit obviously is the lipstick! This one is Hikari Lipsticks. It comes in a variety on shades. Mine came in Dune. This is a lovely on-trend brown/orange shade. Very flattering and moisturising. Love it.

Overall, it’s a really nice box.

Pink Parcel Unboxing March 2017

I usually film this as a You Tube video, but sometimes I really miss just doing a good old blog post.

This months box looks a good one from the first peek 🙂 So the first thing that catches my eye is the Maza Chocolate. I really like the idea that the chocolate is vegan, free from sugar and artificial sweetener, handmade and 70% cocoa. I’m not too much of a dark chocolate lover, but I know it’s much better for you. In the box we get a 30g sample and it’s £7.99 for 80g, but I know dark chocolate with is usually expensive.

Next we have London Coffee Bag. I was a bit disappointed it isn’t a tea bag this month. I was going to drink it whilst I wrote up the blog post! It is however, a coffee in a tea bag! How quirky is that! The coffee is caffeinated, as was the teabag last month, so it appears Pink Parcel are perhaps moving away from the more herbal/soothing teas of the last year or so. I’m not a huge fan of coffee (the Northern in me won’t go!), so I am going to pass this onto Dan.

Now, I’m going to have a look at some of the body care this months box has to offer. I’m starting with Kepi Bath Crystals (various), I got mine in Cold Season. It’s currently a really dull rainy day, so it doesn’t feel too wintery. Saying that a good bath soothes menstrual cramps, so I don’t really care when it comes to relaxing and soothing the pain away.

Then, I got really excited when I spotted the Beauty Papier Green Tea Blotting Paper. This is amazing – I was only saying to my friend last week about I haven’t used blotting paper for years (but maybe I haven’t been looking properly) and here it is in the box! They are amazing and small enough to fit in your handbag for instant shine removal. A downside for me though is that it’s £7.99 for a pack of 30 sheets and that does seem rather steep to me, when it used to be a couple of pounds in Superdrug when I last used it.

Next we have, Boozi Body Care Body Wash, Cheeky Woo Woo. Now, I have just got back from a week in Gran Canaria so this is perfect. Shut your eyes and it has that tropical fruity scent that reminds you of your holidays! It is also vegan and cruelty free, which is something I am really wanting to get involved in. I don’t find it as moisturising as my skin needs though after fun in the sun, which is the only downside, but I am going to try it again at a later date.

Ooh next we have Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Shampoo. I haven’t spotted this before and I love oil for my face and body, so I am really looking forward to trying this. I am going to hold off from using it for another few weeks though as I am going away again and the 50ml carry on size is perfect if I’m not taking checked in luggage.

Next we have a Lapel Yeah ‘Happy Everything’ Pin. This is so cute ‘a happiness booster in a pin’. I’m going to pin it to my makeup bag I think as I alway lose pins attached to my coat!

Last but the thing which probably excites me the most is of course the lipstick. We have the Rimmel The Only One and I have it in 700 Naughty Nude (I love that name!!). The colour is beautiful and perfect for moving away from the winter reds. It’s nice and moisturising too. I applied it at 2pm and

Pink Parcel is £6.99 for your first box and then £10.99 thereafter available at pink parcel.co.uk. You get all your ‘monthly’ essentials and some pretty fab makeup/beauty and sweet treats. As well as things like necklaces and like this box, the little cute pin.
