Sorry for the silence on all things bloggy for a few days, but moving isn’t half stressful 🙂 We hope you enjoy this little moving vlog and if you want a flat tour, just let us know!
I have no idea how I missed this baby. The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Oil has been one of my favourites for years, yet I had never tried this. It is billed as an Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil, which is exactly what I have been searching for.
What can I say, other than this is truly such a fabulously luxurious product. It makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. It’slike I’m having a spa treatment (just shut my eyes and pretend it’s not morning and time for work!)
It contains 3 precious seed oils for their revitalising and repairing properties:
-Black cumin for antioxidants
-Rosehip for repairing Omega 3 and 6
-Camellia rich in nutritive oleic acid
I think my skin is in need of a bit extra at the moment, as I am 38 and we are starting to experience the first few really cold days and central heating time. This is bob on and my skin feels nourished and plump.
Initially, I was a little put off using an oil during the day, as I thought it would make me look super greasy. I was wrong! I mix together a few drops and work it in with my serum and moisturiser in the palm of my hand, then apply to my face. It says to apply to skin and then apply moisturiser, but I found mixing it worked better for my skin for some reason.
I’ve been using it now for a few weeks and I don’t think I will be replacing this from my daily skin care routine for a long time.
Woah where is this year going! Although we can now do sneaky references to Christmas and maybe get away with it now. Right?! Here is my favourites for the month of October. Grab a brew, a pumpkin spiced latte or whatever your tipple. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
A few weeks back I attended a fabulous weekend of all things bloggy, combining the Blogger Awards and Olympia Beauty. One of the brands showcasing was the fabulous Nouveau. As you can imagine, I love my lashes so I made a beeline straight for them!
The ladies were so nice and helpful, and gave us some lovely goodies to take away and sample. Then as a massive bonus a few weeks later, this little goodie box arrived, making us officially part of #LashGang.
The kit contains:
Stip Lashes Glamour/Style 1
Stip Lashes Volume/Style 2
Stip Lashes Natural/Style 3
Stip Lash Adhesive
Eye Make-Up Remover
Lash & Brow Conditioning Serum
I am on of those people who hates using new things (they look so pretty), but I’ve finally cracked open the Glamourise/Style 1 for the I Am Freedom Final at DISTRKT. The lashes looked fantastic. They lasted all night and I got lots of compliments 🙂 The only thing I would say, is the glue doesn’t come off easily with ordinary makeup remover, so I had to go back in with the one they sent this morning. Just something to bear in mind.
I love getting lost in a good book, whether it be on the beach, travels or just feet up on the sofa. Today is the turn of Lucy Brazier’s Porter Girl First Lady Of The Keys. Based on her own personal experiences as a Deputy Head Porter at Cambridge University. Lucy originally blogged her experience as the Secret Diary of a PorterGirl, as she struggled to get to grips with this eccentric world, far removed from everyday life. This has now been rewritten and turned into this fantastic novel.
Porter Girl First Lady Of The Keys follows Lucy from her first day at Old College, which is in for a shock when it appoints its very first female Deputy Head Porter. We follow Lucy through some pretty hair-raising incidents; from chasing after naked students to the dark underworld and even murders… You can definitely say the new Deputy Head Porter is never far from adventure.
I did find the book a little slow to start off, but it soon built up pace and I found myself totally gripped
by the touching and at times laugh-out-loud funny storylines.
You can get hold of Lucy’s book here
Dan and I have just got back from a lovely few days in the fair city. I have never been before, it has always been on my ‘to go’ list, but I hadn’t got around to going for some reason. Dan, the sweetie he is, booked us a few days with it being half term. It was Dan’s fifth visit, so he was playing tour guide (although not that successfully at times, haha!). I thought it would also be the perfect opportunity to do a little bit of vlogging whilst we were there.
I can’t deny it, I am a stationary geek! Just for some reason, I have never found the ‘perfect planner’ that works for me. I have been on the look out for the perfect planner for a long time. I really like the look of the Erin Condren Life Planner, but I couldn’t justify spending the money including shipping from the US. Then I spotted this from Pyrongs. It does exactly what I want. It has month to view, is lovely and bright and well, pretty 🙂
Here is the link to the website if you fancy a ganders. Unfortunately the offer code they had ran out within days and before I had chance to upload the video.
In celebration of their newest launch of Be Legendary 120 Lip Collection, we were invited over to Smashbox’s swish new London hub, Studio One Store.
Then to top it off Smashbox then sent out our shade of choice!
This has to be the most fun I’ve had filming a video. I got together with some fabulous You Tube ladies and we set ourselves our first challenge (keep your eyes peeled for more if you like challenges!). Who knew how hard it would be to get all the makeup bits you need for a full face for under £20, but I managed it with a few pence to spare!
A few weeks back I attended a fabulous weekend of all things bloggy, combining the Blogger Awards and Olympia Beauty. I will link the blog post here. I just wanted to share some of the goodies I picked up with you. It’s a combination of the goodie bag and bits I picked up at the event (my poor bank balance!).
