Tanya Burr has a successful YouTube Beauty channel, which I have followed for years now. I was a little unsure that this book may be aimed at a younger audience, given her followers age demographic. However, I was actually quite surprised with how much I did like this book.
The book is more more personal than The Glam Guide by Fleur De Force, which I did a review on a few weeks ago (chick here if you would like to read that). The first two chapters of the book are about Tanya’s life growing up. Then later there is also a chapter on her and fiancee Jim’s relationship. I did think that was a nice touch, but then again I am quite nosey – I love watching Vlogs!
Tanya leaves space after every chapter so that you can write your own notes. I know this has caused some mixed opinions. In one respect, it is lovely the way you can interact with the book and make it personal to you too. I quite like the notes after the cooking section, as I may put a few notes in there.
I bought the book on Amazon for £6.49 (RRP £12.99), so for that price it is a nice book, which looks pretty on my bookshelf.
I think if you are a Tanya Burr fan, then this book is great, as it is essentially an auto-biography with beauty and lifestyle tips and tricks. If you are looking for just a beauty and lifestyle guide, then maybe this won’t be to your liking as much.
Has anyone else read this book? What did you think?
Thank you for reading!
Lots of love, Helen xoxo
