Christmas Cheer: Festive Mulled Wine

I love wrapping the presents, watching a Christmas film and having a nice glass of mulled wine. I usually make my own, but we cheated a bit this year and used a dried spice mix. It just saved a bit of time for shopping and less prep and cooking time, but we were not disappointed šŸ™‚

Ingredients

1 cinnamon stick
Dried orange
Dried ginger
Dried cranberries
Cardamom pods
3 cloves
Pimento berries
2 star anise
2 dried Bay leaves
Cane Sugar to taste

The Mulled Wine Spice Blend we used is available on ebay.

Method:

1. Pour red wine into a saucepan and add the contents of the sachet.
2 Simmer gently for 20 minutes over a low heat. Do not allow to boil.
3. Remove from the heat and allow to stand for 5 Min.
4. Add sugar to taste if preferred.
5. Strain and serve hot.

What’s your favourite festive tipple?

Lots of love,
Helen xoxo
