Hi guys, I hope you are all well? I finally have a bit of chill out time for half term and thought what better way to spend it than a bit of baking! Healthy baking, at that! I love flapjacks, but the fat and calories usually put me off indulging too much.
You will need:
200g porridge oats
100g of vanilla whey
2 chopped baking apples
150g sultanas
400ml of apple juice
2tbsp of pure honey
1 tbsp of cinnamon (I just use the dried Schwarz tubs)
Method:
1. Pre-heat oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5.
2. Into a saucepan heat the apples, sultanas, honey, cinnamon and apple juice in a pan on a low heat until the apples soften.
3. Into a bowl mix the oats and whey together. Once mixed add to the pan with the apple mixture.
4. Pop the mixture onto a piece of greaseproof paper onto a baking tray and cook for around 25 minutes until crisped and browned.
They went down very well is all I can say, as I didn’t even have time to photograph the finished article without lots of missing flapjacks…
Lots of love Helen
xoxo
